The Limekiln Trail System offers a diverse network of over 9 miles of purpose-built, NEPA-approved singletrack trails, primarily designed as easy to intermediate “flow trails” . These trails meander through a 13,783-acre expanse of BLM land at an elevation of 7,900 feet, providing riders with scenic views of the San Luis Valley and the southern San Juan Mountains. The system is open most of the year and is easily accessible from US Highway 160, about six miles east of Del Norte at the Limekiln/Old Spanish Trail monument.

Treasure Mountain Trail

Treasure Mountain Trail (#565) is a remote and challenging point-to-point singletrack in the South San Juan Mountains, climbing from about 8,200 ft to a high plateau near Wolf Creek Pass at over 11,200 ft. The trail offers a thrilling descent through aspen and fir forests, narrow sidehill sections, creek crossings, and dramatic views of the Continental Divide and East Fork Valley below. Most riders tackle it via a shuttle setup—starting at the high end near Wolf Creek Pass and ending at East Fork Road—to maximize the rewarding downhill flow and scenic payoff
